The USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project works in Burma to support the Ministry of Health and Sport (MOHS) in achieving an efficient, cost-effective, transparent health supply chain — one that ensures availability of quality, efficacious medicines, medical supplies, and equipment at all levels to improve health outcomes.

Since the baseline assessment was completed, GHSC-PSM has been working with the MOHS and other health sector stakeholders to implement key activities outlined in the national strategy. We strive to attain a single, integrated, country-led supply chain for the health sector by:

The project teams also work with USAID missions, the MOHS, the Central Medical Store Depot, and other development partners to strengthen their stewardship role and accountability for the supply chain in Burma. A key goal is building the capacity of government leadership and management teams to set goals, clarify expectations, and set an example for responsible management, which will inspire and build the commitment of supply chain staff and facilitate positive change.
