Supply chain management is one of the largest challenges facing health care programs in Liberia. Inadequate storage, inventory, and warehouse management practices, along with limited information sharing, continue to contribute to commodity stockouts and uncertain drug quality.
Over the next five years, the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project will work with the Liberian National Drug Service (NDS)/Central Medical Store (CMS) to improve the availability of and access to life-saving health commodities. Activities will focus on efficient warehousing, distribution, and supply chain technical assistance with an emphasis on data visibility. The team will collaborate with key local stakeholders to strategically review supply chain operations and refine approaches for improved performance, increased efficiency, and country ownership. Key focus areas include storage and distribution activities, such as consolidating warehousing at the central level.
