The USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project is leveraging the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) to synchronize master data with health commodity suppliers. The GDSN enables real-time data sharing and trade-item updates among global trading partners, which facilitates product data exchange between companies and consumers, driving business and efficiencies for all partners in the network, all around the world. USAID, Global Fund, UNFPA, UNDP, and Stop TB have committed to leveraging the GDSN to streamline submission and management of master data, which presents a significant opportunity to increase access to quality data across the global health community, including in countries we support.
December 30, 2019 marked GHSC-PSM’s Phase 2 “go live” date, which requires suppliers to publish their product master data to GHSC-PSM through the GDSN. In recognition of this, and to drive adoption of these standards globally, we are emulating good practices from other GDSN implementers such as Australia Health Purchasing Victoria by highlighting our top performing suppliers on our website.
Recognizing the effort and investment in standardization required by suppliers to meet our new global standards requirements, including GDSN, we are excited to launch this platform to share our progress, recognize suppliers who have successfully adopted these standards, and encourage all trading partners to follow in their footsteps. This page will be updated on a quarterly basis.
