A health system’s success is gauged by its ability to serve clients with comprehensive, timely and quality care. Achieving this level of support requires that facilities have available medicines and contraceptives, and capacity to report availability. Frequent stockouts at front-line facilities often thwart these ambitions.
Drugs Out of Range (DOOR) is a novel system to report low stock events. GHSC-PSM piloted DOOR in Angola from October 2019 to June 2021 as part of its effort to expand contraceptive access in the country, where contraceptive prevalence is currently about 18 percent.
