The Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services (DPS) requested from the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) for support in revising the logistics Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual . The Policy Subgroup of the Supply Chain TWG began revising the logistics SOP manual, with technical assistance from GHSC-PSM. The primary goal of the review process was to produce an Integrated Logistics Management of Health Commodities SOP Manual that will change the way logistics activities are carried out by vividly expressing clarity on logistics roles and responsibilities, streamlining processes, improving visibility of logistics information, promoting agility, trust, and collaboration, and aligning objectives.
Marking a successful exercise, in September 2022, the final version of the Integrated Logistics Management of Health Commodities SOP Manual was handed over to the ministry of health.
GHSC-PSM continues to work with the MOHS and other supply chain partners to disseminate and monitor the SOP at all levels of the supply chain. The project is also providing technical support in developing a SOP manual curriculum and training toolkit, and a Training of Trainers (ToT) for selected central and district level officers.
